Born in New York City, after graduating in 1978 with a BFA from Pratt Institute, David has freelanced for Children's TV Workshop, illustrating "Muppets" for toys, products, clothing, books, and Sesame Street Magazine, while contributing to various magazines, book publishers, newspapers, and ad agencies. At present he regularly contributes to the Editorial and Feature pages of the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post and the Star Ledger, magazines, book publishers, design firms, foundations and ad agencies.
Some of his awards include 1990, Best Image for "The Homeless", The New York Times/ Week-in Review 1996, Award of excellence for "MacNamara's Vietnam", The New York Times/ Op-Ed page 1997, "Portfolio Award", The New Jersey Press Association.
